On June 29, 2017, Checkfront will end support for TLS 1.1 and 1.0 encryption, and begin requiring TLS 1.2 for secure connection to both our back-end app, and booking pages.

For anyone using modern browsers and devices, there will be no discernible change, and no action should be required on your part.

However, older browsers are inherently insecure, and customers or staff using those will have difficulty viewing secure pages unless they update or change browsers.

Based on aggregated analytics, currently less than 0.5% of web traffic on our servers falls within this insecure definition, and that number shrinks further each month as more and more of the web adopts TLS 1.2 as the new standard.

If you, your staff, or your customers are using Windows XP or Vista combined with Internet Explorer, the default browser on Android 4.3 or earlier, or Safari version < 7, it will be necessary for you to switch to a modern browser like Firefox or Chrome.

This is a necessary change stemming from the Payment Card Industry’s recommended protocols for secure e-commerce facilitation and data encryption.

If you have questions or concerns about this change, please review our browser requirements, or contact us.
