What is Purchase Protection by TourShield?
TourShield is a protection-driven technology for registrations, tours, bookings, live-events and more, offered by FanShield, LLC a wholly-owned subsidiary of the leading InsurTech firm Protecht, Inc. Purchase Protection by TourShield is a new feature you can add to your checkout flow that allows your guests to protect their bookings against unforeseen circumstances while providing you with inventory control.
How it works for your guests
When a guest goes to book one of your tours or activities, TourShield’s widget will display right in the checkout flow. They can choose to add coverage by selecting the option and paying a small premium based on the total value. Post checkout, they’ll see the fee on their invoice and will receive an email from Protecht outlining their protection.
If they experience a covered reason before the booking date and time, your guest can file a claim with TourShield. As long as they provide a valid reason with the required documentation, they will get reimbursed for the full value of the booking at purchase. Covered reasons include work travel conflicts, family emergencies, and more.
How it works for your business
TourShield will handle any claims made by your guests who opt-in for Purchase Protection by TourShield. In other words, you won’t have to assess these time-sensitive requests, nor will you lose revenue due to them. The only part you’ll play is seeing the notification in your Protecht Dashboard, or if your guest wants to make changes to their existing booking.
While TourShield helps you protect your profits, one of the biggest benefits is that it can drive more conversions for you. With a coverage option in place, entering credit card information to complete their booking won’t be a big deal for guests. They’ll have peace of mind knowing they won’t lose out if they miss out because of something out of their control.
Getting started with Purchase Protection
If you already use Checkfront, you can enable Purchase Protection by TourShield in your account under Integrations. Before activating, make sure to see whether Purchase Protection is a good fit for you. It’s available to all of our Plans and Stripe users.
