Discount Code to be able to book
We are still in testing phase, but have 2 people whom we would like to test the system. When we put the 2 spots available we would like to allow only these 2 people to book and would like to use the discount code feature for this. Could you please let me know if this is possible? I know it isn't really ideal use of this feature
Kind regards,

Thanks for your question!
Could you please clarify if you are attempting to use discount codes to limit availability to specific customers, or was this to reduce the price for these test bookings?

Thanks for clarifying!
Yes, you could set your default ruleset to have an unreasonably high maximum subtotal. Then, set the specific item in question to have a price higher than that subtotal rule.
Finally, set the discount code to discount the item down to the actual rate you're wanting to charge.
The specific customer can apply their discount code to the item and meet that maximum subtotal criterion whereas ordinary customers cannot resulting in them having access but others not.

Firstly thank you for your reply. I like the workaround. The tutorial is amazing - thank you for taking the effort and recording it. Will trial it this weekend and let you know how it worked.

Z
The tutorial worked but it seems like something isn't quite working. Probably not related to this, but this is what I am getting: https://prnt.sc/v6yfut
Please let me know if you can check from the back-end.

Thank you for your reply!
Unfortunately, the error you have mentioned is related to the option we provided. While it seems to work for the booking page, it ultimately produces an error when trying to create the booking. I am sorry this did not work as we were hoping!
At this time, it looks like we will not be able to restrict items to specific customers by using a discount code.
If you would like to explore alternatives, please let us know, or email us at support@checkfront.com.
All the best,

Well, we tried
Could this be submitted as a featured request? Not sure what is the best way to do this as still now around here
Kind regard,

Thanks for your understanding!
I can certainly submit a feature request that suggests items have the option to be password/code protected for access -- I think it would be quite helpful!
In the meantime, what if you placed this particular item in its own category and used custom CSS to hide the category tab on the booking page? This way, you can share the category-specific URL to the appropriate customers but the general public wouldn't be able to access it unless they somehow learned what that URL is.
I'm happy to expand on this further if you'd like. Just let me know at support@checkfront.com.
Warmly,
