Account Permission Restrictions

I would like to see more restrictions for my staff accounts.
For example, under Inventory, I need my staff to have access to the Gift Certificates, but they do not need access to Items.  I have staff that do not understand they cannot be in there.
It would be nice to have the restrictions under Inventory be more individual than broad.

  • Hi @MelissaPockett,

Thank you for your engagement in our forums!

To restrict which specific Items can be used by a Staff Account we will want to navigate to the 'Permissions' tab in their specific settings through (Manage > User Accounts) while logged in as an admin user for the account.

At the bottom of the 'Permissions' tab, there will be a toggle setting labelled 'Item and Category Access Restrictions' that can be activated for each individual User Account.

    As seen here:

Activating this will allow you to restrict the specific members of staff to only allow them to view the 'Gift Certificates' Category.

I hope you find this helps. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us at support@checkfront if you have any other questions!

    All the best,

    Thank you Ethan for responding.

This almost works.  This allows staff to book the gift certificates, but I need staff to be able to search gift certificates.  The only way that I am familiar with, is to access this through the Inventory section.

    Thank you,

  • Hi @MelissaPockett,

Thank you for reaching back with these further details.

At this time there isn't a way that we can select specific portions of the Inventory Submenu for Staff-Account permissions. With that said I can completely understand how having this further modularity would allow for very powerful staff account features and I empathize with you on this.

I've located a few ongoing Feature-Request that are aiming to add further granularity to the Inventory Submenu permissions and I've gone ahead and included your information to the list of requesters. While I don't have an ETA for when this could be implemented into Checkfront I would be happy to keep you up to date with any further details that come my way.

In the meantime, please don't hesitate to reach back with any other questions and we would be happy to help.

    Kind regards,
