Search bar display on homepage

Hi, just wondering is there a way to display just the search bar & date picker on the homepage of a website, instead of showing the inventory or the hero image, something similar to those booking websites like expedia.com?  I know we probably need to use API for the customization but I'm using SOHO account so the API integration is not available I guess? Thanks in advance.
