What is the difference between image ALT tag and image Title tag?

Comments

  • Alt tag is the written copy that appears in place of an image on a webpage if the image fails to load on a user's screen.

Image title is another attribute that can be added to the image tag in HTML. It is used to provide a title for your image. The text you enter inside the title tag will not be shown to user when a image cannot be displayed.

  • Image alt text describes the image textually so that search engines and screen readers (software used by the visually impaired) can understand what the image is. Using alt text correctly can help your SEO. The image title tag is simply used to provide an image with a title, but it isn't important for SEO.
