Navigation improvements please.

I like the software - for the majority of what we use it for it works quite well. The biggest improvement that I believe is sorely missing is better navigation and just moving around. At the moment there is way too many unnecessary clicks to get back to certain points in the directory. I am sure this has been brought up before in other discussions but why not add the option of a sidebar with a directory tree under it - at least to get started. If you added this feature along with  user friendly sidebar options the whole user experience would be vastly improved.

  • Hi ChangingGear,

I'm glad to hear you like how the system looks so far! Your feedback about our navigation is noted, the system can be a little overwhelming to navigate when you're starting out. Could you explain a little more about where in the App you're having difficulties? More details will help us understand where we need to improve our system and make considerations for future UI updates.

I look forward to hearing back from you! You can respond here in this thread, or at

  • Thanks Jay, This is not about getting used to the system when I am starting out it is more about day to day navigation when creating inventory, rules, etc... there is multiple clicks involved to get back to any starting point. Lets just say I wanted to change one piece of information on several of my inventory items under one category. Currently I would:

    Go to inventory (click)
    then to items (click)
    then to category filter (click)
    then choose category (click)
    then choose item (click)
then make any changes and save (click)

Now if I want to find the next item under that category I have to go through the whole click process again. a very simple navigation bar on the left hand side with a tree structure would allow users to move freely through all items and rules, etc without having all the other clicks involved. You could also add some sort of subtree at the bottom of the screen to make it easier to move to the next product.

Just my two cents - surely I can't be the first to find this very cumbersome.
  • Hi ChangingGear,

Thank you for getting back to me, and thank you for your feedback! I understand much better what you mean now, this is something I encounter every day as well. What I often do to get around it is to open, for example, the Items page with the filtering I'm looking for (item name, categories, etc.), and then I will open each item I'm working on in a new tab. This helps me reduce the number of clicks I have to make when testing configurations.

Of course, this solution isn't perfect. This is definitely one of the areas in which our UI can be improved. We do have some UI updates coming out with some of our bigger system changes, and there will likely be many changes after that as well. I will pass on your feedback to the Product team so they can consider it for these and future updates. I can't guarentee your solution will be implemented, but this information is crucial in informing us where we need to improve and place our focus. :)

If you have any more questions feel free to let me know here or feel free to email me and my team at, and my team and I will be happy to help you out.

  • I too do the right click to open. How about an option for all lists to open links in a new tab? Booking Index, Inventory, Customer, etc. A blanket option to make this for all lists would be enough.
