Need a custom-modification to the Wordpress Plugin

I am using Checkfront with a Wordpress theme that has it's own booking plugin.  We are not using their booking plugin since Checkfront is a lot more powerful, but I like the look and feel of the theme's plugin.

It has a search form on the home page where the guest can enter an arrival and departure date and number of guests, and when the Search button is clicked, it then goes to the booking page where the results that match the search appear.

Checkfront's plugin has the search form and the results all on the same page, which makes it unsuitable to use as the home page.  What I need is a form that I can put on my homepage that will post the search data to the Checkfront booking page so the guest doesn't have to enter it all over again when the booking page comes up.

Here is the theme we are using:

Anybody interested in tackling this?  I've used programmers from India and China in the past to do some custom php programming for me, but this seems like way too small a project for that!

This may be achievable by customizing the css of the Wordpress booking widget, but you may want to have a look at our Gateway Site Builder theme.  It matches up pretty close to what I think you are looking for and has some additional value in the booking flow and item publishing:

    See here for more information:
  • Yes, that's the functionality I'm looking for.  I'll play with the site builder and see what I can do with it.

Great - if you need any help setting it up please reach out to our support team.
  • I would also like a similar feature but on our existing wordpress theme. Is there a code snippet I could add to an existing wordpress theme to get front page booking form? I've noticed that conversion rate with my Checkfront clients is a LOT lower than clients on other platforms where this front page date availability feature is the norm. I think this has something to do with it, but there are are other user interface issues also.
  • Hi vcircle,

Thank you for using our forums.

Unfortunately, I do not have a code snippet for this. If you are wanting to make major changes to the appearance of Checkfront, I would recommend seeking out a web developer. They will be able to help you with either a CSS solution if you just want to change the appearance or a solution through the API if would like a completely custom frontend.

And just let me know if you have any more questions.

    All the best,

  • If I understand what you want correctly, I can make this functionality for you.  I have built similar functions for other wordpress websites.  Feel free to reach out if you are still looking to hire someone to do this.
