Reserved vs. Paid Notification Emails

My current Setup > Configuration has the "default status" set to Reserved.

Currently, I have set up a customer email notification once they have "reserved" and separate, different email once the status moves to "paid."  When a booking is made by the admin, there are two distinct stages, Reserved, followed by Paid and thus two notification emails.  My company requires payment in advance through PayPal to be done at the time of the booking.  If I have a client who books and pays online all at the same time, will they receive both the "reserved" and "paid" notification or will they only receive the "paid" notification?
