Linux System Administator

Location: Victoria, BC

Checkfront is looking for a Linux Cloud Administrator to maintain our reliable, secure and efficient Saas platform. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network system in order to ensure smooth network operation.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, maintain, and monitor all active network systems
• Support and administer third-party applications
• Ensure network security and connectivity
• Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency)
• Resolve problems reported by end users
• Help define ​and administer​ network policies and procedures
• Specify system requirements and design solutions
• Research and make recommendations on server system administration

Requirements

• Proven experience in a network administrator role
• Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
• Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired
• Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies

We’d love you to have

• Experience with Google Cloud
• Experience deploying and maintaining Jira Server
• Experience with deployment and configuration management software (Chef, Puppet, Salt, Ansible, Distelli etc)
