Director of Sales

Location: Victoria BC

Checkfront is seeking a talented and competitive Director of Sales to lead our eager sales team.

The successful candidate will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives.

We’re a small team working towards a common goal: building an awesome online booking application so our customers can focus on operating their business, and less time administering it.

  • Demonstrated success in coaching, training, and motivating teams, as well as successfully selecting talent and integrating talent into an effective team.
  • Experienced in a quota-bearing sales management role, ideally in a SaaS environment.
  • Relentlessly driven, self-motivated and goal-oriented people.
  • Ability to adapt, change and flourish in a dynamic environment.
  • Customer empathy, and the ability to quickly establish rapport in a variety of settings.
  • Professional and ethical candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute sales strategies and plans to rapidly grow sales while ensuring alignment with the overall go-to-market strategy.
  • Build, support, mentor and motivate the sales team, including implementation of best practices and appropriate sales methodologies.
  • Be a senior external face of Checkfront in high-level customer and prospect engagements.
  • Must be a hands-on, team player with the ability to manage small teams.
  • Start-up experience with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Proven ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities through a consultative sales approach.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS/cloud-software.
  • Exceptional presentation abilities.
  • Develop domain expertise in the online bookings, tourism and hospitality market.

Requirements

  • 5+ years sales and/or account management experience, ideally at a SAAS or Enterprise Software company
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a startup environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Marketing, Sales or a similar discipline.
  • Interested in technology and in becoming an expert in your space
  • CRM and modern sales tools experience (Salesforce, Close.io, Salesloft etc).
  • Highly organized and strong time management skills.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication.
  • Ability to work in fast paced, changing environment.
