A year has passed since the first Arival event and we’re looking forward to the next one around the corner. That’s right! Next week, we’re taking off to Las Vegas for round two! And we’re excited to attend this inspiring event to see what’s in store for Tours, Activities and Attractions this year.
What is Arival?
While the travel industry tends to focus on what’s happening in flights and accommodation, Arival is the first and only event that’s dedicated to advancing in-destination experiences, the third-largest travel segment.
According to Phocuswright, travel activities — including tours, activities, attractions and events — account for 10% of global revenue. That makes perfect sense! Most people travel to experience a destination beyond the airport and hotel.
Until now, the travel industry hasn’t exactly recognized the significance of in-destination experiences. Often, tour and activity professionals have a smaller presence at top travel conferences and feel lost in the crowd.
Arival came along to give in-destination experiences the conference it deserves. Travel companies involved in this essential sector — including suppliers, thought leaders, software providers, resellers and OTAs — now have their own place to connect, learn and grow together.
Last year, it was amazing to see how Arival emphasized the growth opportunity of travel activities. With multiple demo labs, workshops, and general sessions, the quality of the content was top-notch and covered topics ranging from distribution to technology. Arival’s mission was made clear — to help create success for businesses, large and small, in this fast growing industry.
Also, the networking events allowed comradery to take place — which was incredible to experience and witness. Industry colleagues were able to meet on common ground. And despite being miles apart, on separate continents even, they could still relate to one another regarding pain points and goals.
This year, the conference has doubled in size. So we are beyond excited to meet the passionate individuals who make in-destination experiences the best in travel.
