Events Stacking
  • I have 4 rule sets

3 Day (Min 3 Day, Maximum 7 day)

Weekly (Min 7 Day, Maximum 20 day)

Monthly (Min 21 Day, Maximum 59 day)

Season (Min 60 Day, Maximum 90 Day)

For each ruleset, I have a special event setting a new price.  For each item, I have set the desired base price for each possible event.

What's strange is that bookings over 3 days and less than 20, the longer event is chosen.  (a 15 day booking, only uses the weekly pricing and not the 3 day) For over 21 days, it uses the earlier event for 20 days, and the longer 1 for 1 day.  For example a 90 day booking shows the Monthly Price for 60 days, and then the Seasonal Price for 30.

What I need is to have the price be uniform across the whole booking.  If a person choses 59 days, I'd like to get the monthly price * 59 days.  If they choose 60 days, I want them to get the seasonal price * 60 days.  How can I setup this behavior?  It already works for the 3day/weekly events.  Why do the longer events try to stack?

    Thank you,

    Robert

  • Hi Robert

This type of daily rate or discount scenario such as:

    1- 5 days @ $ 30 per day
    6 to 10 days @ $25 per day
    11 to 15 days @ $ 20 per day
    etc.

is currently not supported by the Checkfront Booking System.
  • Hi

This type of scenario is not supported by Checkfront at this present time.

I suggest clicking on http://www.checkfront.com/forum/categories/features in order to create a feature request so that this function may be considered by the Checkfront development team.

Please note that not all feature requests eventually make it into the platform.    We prioritize what features will be added to the system based on the value added to the overall platform, and the number of times a given feature has been requested.
  • It would be a bit cumbersome, but you could set up Events for every day and have a rule attached that triggered the event for just that number of days.   For example a Special "3 Day" event is set up with a rule that confines it to a Minimum # of 3 Days and a Maximum of 3 Days.

When filling in the price boxes on your items, just check "Per Booking" and do the math yourself, instead of having the system do the calculation "Per Day".  So if 1-5 days are $30, then the first 5 price/Event boxes have
$30, $60, $90, $120 and $150 entered.  When a booking is say 3 days, it gives out the $90 price.

    Just a thought.
  • +1 Bump

Any progress / update on whether there is now a way to do this?

    Much appreciated.
  • Please be sure to check our updates page.  We try to cross-link and check which forum discussions should be updated to indicate when an issue has been addressed.

At this time, this issue remains unresolved.

  • It used to work well with version 1 but they took it off on version 2. It is still working except that the calculation is no good on the firts window but good from the first pop up window to the end of the process. I'm still using it but it is a bit confusing for customers who's always have the price for a day, even if they pick 5 days. We have to keep asking them to fix that and the more we are the fastest it will come.

  • Has this been fixed/implemented?
  • This has been addressed in our latest release 2.7.  See here for more details: http://www.checkfront.com/updates/
  • It isn't fixed at all!
  • We'd need more information Tim.  We've had no reports on this issue since November.
