I've been using Checkfront to manage our digital cinema cameras and equipment, and I really see the potential. I have noticed that this business is not the primary focus of the software, so I thought I would request some features that would help us out in our line of business. If some of these are implemented already, and I just haven't seen them, please excuse me.

1. Daily, Weekly & Monthly rates: I have seen some of the event/rule work-arounds, but an applied discount doesn't help if a reservation is for a month and a half and we charge one rate for a month and a different rate for the remaining two weeks.

2. Package deals: I've used the attach feature to add items to a package, but what I get when I do that is the price for the package plus the price for every item that comes with it. The package price should supersede it's contents' prices.

3. Advanced attach: We have a lot of small expensive items that need to be added to orders. With the system now I have to add them individually into inventory in order to add multiple to a package. For example, if I make an inventory item for a specific battery model and change the quantity to reflect our stock, when I create packages I'm only allowed to add one battery using the attach button. We need a way to attach more than one of inventory items with quantities greater than one.

4. Serial numbers: As of now, I've just been adding serial numbers to each item in one of the "other" fields. Having a way for the software to keep track of serial numbers is a must for me. It would also be beneficial to add serial numbers to items with multiple quantities. Let's say I have 10 of a certain model camera. I would like to have 10 inputs for serial numbers in one inventory menu, and the software should have the ability to add specific cameras to orders using the serial number based on what's in stock.

5. Custom rates: A lot of times I have to adjust rates at the time of checkout for certain customers. I would like to see a more advanced way of editing items' daily rates at checkout. We also offer continuing discounts to sub-renters, so the ability to set a specific discount for certain customers would help.

6. Check items in: One critical feature that this software lacks is the ability to check items back in. One of the main problems we have is customers not returning gear or returning gear late. We need to know what hasn't been returned, so that future bookings don't get double booked, and we need for the software to be able to charge for the extra time that the items are out.
