Settig up events and pricing for a holiday cottage
  • Hi, I'm trying to set checkpoint up to manage the bookings for a single holiday cottage. We accept week long bookings (sat to sat), mid week bookings (mon to fri) and weekend bookings (fri to mon). The prices for these bookings vary depending upon the time of year. I'm really struggling to see how I configure the events for these bookings types. The checkpoint system looks really promising but I'm really struggling to get it working. I'm integrating it with Joomla and I've done this part OK. Any help would be appreciated please before my 14 day trial expires. Thanks, Mark.
  • Hi, just an update.

I've 2 rules set up - one for week long bookings starting on a saturday and the second for mid week bookings starting on a monday. Week booking set to min/max of 7 nights and mid-week booking set to min/max of 4 nights. I've set a base price of 0 and have set dynamic prices for the two events to increase them by £395 for week booking and £275 for mid week booking. On the Joomla displayed page it shows the cottage but has a footnote to say that all bookings must start on a Saturday. When booking made and passed through to checkpoint cart the cost displayed is zero (0). I can't get my head round the logic of the rules / events.

    Thanks, Mark.

  • Hi Mark,

I think the best option in your case would be to set up a basic 3 day minimum rule, and perhaps (if you feel it necessary) a maximum 7 day (in the same rule).

Support will email you back an answer to your specific questions.

    Thanks,

    Chris
